Evening office cleaner

The job

This is our evening shift, and the only one that runs after 18:00. You clean small offices, two clinics, and a shared workspace in North Harbor after the people who work there go home. You work with one other cleaner, from a checklist written for each building: desks wiped where they are clear, kitchens, washrooms, bins, and floors.

A normal day

You start at 18:00 at the first office, using the key safe the office manager set up. Each building takes 60 to 90 minutes. The supplies stay in a cupboard at each site, so there is no van to load. You travel between the three sites on foot or by bus; they are a few streets apart. Before you lock up, you set the alarm and send a two-line note to the office: done, and anything to report. You finish by 22:00.

What you need

• A background check, because you hold keys and alarm codes
• Five free evenings a week, Monday to Friday
• No experience: the first week you work beside the evening lead

What we provide

• Pay every Friday, with the evening rate on every hour
• A phone line to the on-call lead until 22:30
• Shirts, gloves, and all supplies on site
• Daytime shifts when they open up, if you want to move over

The trial shift is one paid day with one of our leads, on real jobs. At the end you both say whether it is a fit; if it is, you start the following week.
