Most streets here were built between the wars, so the homes are tall and narrow, with steep stairs, sash windows, and radiators under every sill. A standard clean takes longer than the square footage suggests, and we price it that way from the start.
Our three Elm Park crews work from a small base on Mapleton and walk to half their jobs. The rest of the area is a five-minute drive, which is why same-week visits are easier to get here than anywhere else we cover.
The work changes with the trees. From October the gutters and the front steps take most of our time; in spring it is windows, after the pollen settles, and carpets once the dogs stop bringing the mud in.
