We work inside people’s homes, so we ask for more than most websites do: your address, how to get in, and sometimes photos. This page explains what Homio collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We never sell personal data.
What we collect
When you ask for a price, book a visit, or contact us, we collect:
- Contact details: your name, phone number, and email address
- Your home: the address, the size of the home (rooms, bathrooms, or square footage), and notes about pets or parking
- Access details: how the crew gets in, such as key location, lockbox, door, gate, or alarm codes
- Photos you send us, for example of a stain or a repair, to help us quote
- Job photos our crews take for quality checks (see section 4)
- Booking history: dates, services, prices, and any feedback or complaints
Card payments are handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
When you browse the site, we collect only what the cookies you accept allow (see the cookie policy).
Why we use it
We use your data to:
- give you a price and answer your questions
- schedule visits and send confirmations and reminders
- get the crew into your home and do the job
- invoice you and keep the records the law requires
- improve our checklists, for example when a review mentions a missed task
We send offers only if you opt in, and every offer email has an unsubscribe link.
Access details and door codes
Access details are the most sensitive data we hold. We store them encrypted or offline, separately from your address, and only the crew assigned to your visit can see them. Physical keys carry a code tag, never your name or address.
We delete access details 30 days after your plan ends or your last visit (sample period). Ask us to delete them sooner at any time.
Job photos
Crews may take photos of the work, before and after, to check quality and settle any damage claim. We photograph only the work: never people, and never personal items such as documents, photos, or screens.
We use a job photo publicly, for example as a before-and-after project on this site, only with your written consent, and never with your address.
Who we share data with
We share only what each provider needs to do their job:
- our form provider, which delivers the messages you send through this site
- our payment provider, which takes card payments
- our scheduling and email tools, which send confirmations and reminders
- a background-check provider, for job applicants only (section 6)
These providers process data on our instructions. We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.
Job applications
When you apply for a job, we keep your application, the answers on the form, and any CV you send for 6 months (sample period), then delete them. With your permission, a background-check provider checks applicants who reach the final stage.
Cookies
This site uses necessary storage to work, and analytics or marketing cookies only after you accept them. The cookie policy lists each one and how to change your choice.
Your rights and how to ask
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to:
- send you a copy of the data we hold about you
- correct something that is wrong
- delete your data, unless we must keep it by law (for example invoices)
- stop using your data for offers
Email hello@example.com or call (555) 010-0199. We reply within 30 days and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Retention and changes
We keep booking and invoice records for as long as tax law requires, and other data only as long as we need it for the reasons above. We review what we hold once a year.
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use data you already gave us, we tell you by email first.
