Shower wall, after new grout and a fresh seal
The job
The grout in a tiled shower had cracked along two lines, and the silicone at the tray had turned black. Water was getting behind the seal.
What we did
One handyman raked out the loose grout and cut out the old silicone, cleaned and dried the joints, then pressed in new grout and tooled the lines. After the haze was polished off, a new silicone seal went in along the tray.
The result
The shower was back in use the next evening. The customer got a note with the cure time and a cleaning tip to keep the new seal clear.
“He showed me the soft grout he had raked out and explained why the seal kept failing. No leaks since.”
