# Stair and landing carpet: coffee and pet stains

## The job

Fourteen stairs and a landing with a dark traffic trail up the middle, two old coffee spills, and pet marks near the top step.

## What we did

One technician vacuumed every stair with a beater bar, treated the pet marks with an enzyme spotter and the coffee with a tannin spotter, then cleaned stair by stair with hot-water extraction and a hand tool. The pile was groomed and two fans were left running.

## The result

The stairs were dry enough to walk on in about four hours. One coffee mark faded but did not go fully, and the ticket said so before the visit.
